Frontwire’s Messaging Platform is a highly flexible, robust and scalable framework. It is built on a Java client-server architecture, hosted in a highly secure environment.

The specification below provides an overview of the key system components.

Server Hardware
The platform is built on Compaq Proliant Servers running UNIX. Mission critical hard drives are mirrored in real time to a hot spare to protect against hard drive failure.

Mail Servers
The Messaging Platform uses a cluster of UNIX based outgoing mail smarthosts running the Exim mail server.

Internet Connection
10Mbps connection to Globix's highly redundant European backbone.

Hosting facility
Our servers are supported by Globix's power management and distribution system, monitored from the incoming switch-gear to our equipment. Two diverse Liebert UPS systems allow for full redundancy; the system has 40 minutes battery time to allow for the start up of a 1040kW backup diesel generator. The facility is guarded 24x7 with biometric access control, and is protected by multiply redundant fire suppression systems.
